(Did anyone else ever read The Clique series? I was so inspired by Massie’s “in” and “out” categorized list-style journal entries that I structured mine the same way for most of seventh grade. Now when I look back and read them I have no idea what I was talking about.)

But, to get into the heart of this post, I have decided to change the name of my blog to The Bohemian Dreamer.

I’ve been hemming and hawing over what I wanted to do with my blog for a while. I realized a few months ago that the name The Look on Less was not exactly capturing what I was going for. I had originally intended it to be a reference to my short stature (4’11”), as in there was less of me physically but that I still had my own style… yeah, in retrospect it didn’t make much sense.

Most of my friends and family thought that the title was about getting looks for less and that I had some confusion about how to use prepositions. My brother (in typical brother fashion) said that it sounded like a website promoting anorexia— which is most definitely not what I was going for.

So, over the past few months I began to brainstorm ideas for a new name. I decide that I wanted something with more of a niche that focused on my style aesthetic, while not being too confining to strictly fashion posts. I’ve had a lot of fun posting about travel and literature recently. So, while this is still primarily a fashion blog, I wanted to have some leeway to post about other things that interest me.

Thanks to Pinterest and my love of all things Free People, I pinpointed (pun intended) my fashion aesthetic as mainly bohemian. My favorite board on my Pinterest is called Bohemian Dreams– which gave me the inspiration for my new blog name.

Bohemiandreams.com was already taken, so I went with The Bohemian Dreamer, which I think I actually like better. Since this is mainly a personal fashion blog it makes sense to me to have the title referring to a singular person.

A few names that didn’t make the cut:

• “The Lost Bohemian” and “The Roaring Bohemian”, both of which are references to my favorite decades for fashion—the 1920’s and the 1970’s. The 1920’s being the “lost generation” and the “roaring twenties”, and the 70’s being the first big era of bohemian fashion. However, I decide the references were a bit of a stretch and might, again, make sense only in my strange brain.
• “Maxi Skirt, Mini Girl”, I realized pretty quickly that I didn’t want to fall into the petite name reference again. I blame my 10th grade history teacher for giving me a height complex. He picked on me for being short every day and used to put my notebook on the top of the cabinets in the classroom where I couldn’t reach them (it was in good fun, though…at least I thought it was funny). But, ever since then I make dumb short jokes all the time… and give my blogs poorly chosen names.

I hope that you all are as excited about this as I am! In addition to the name change I also finally bought my own domain! I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, but wanted to wait until I had chosen a new name.
