I had a free Sunday to myself, so obviously I wound up filming a video. It’s always nice when I force myself to get off the couch and actually explore my surroundings.
It turns out I don’t have to venture far to find some pretty cool places. I discovered a land preserve, a public farm & flower garden, and a bunch of dogs! What more can a girl ask for?

It was drizzly and cool on Sunday, but I was loving it. I am even more excited about fall than I normally am because A) I’m not in school anymore, and B) My apartment is no longer a living sauna. I actually slept with the window CLOSED the other night. It was a real milestone.
I am super excited about fall fashion as well. I’ve said this before, but working an office job and not being able to wear my go-to denim cut-offs in the summer made me dislike the warm weather fashions even more. I always get excited for summer fashion, but in reality wearing short skirts in not plausible because either my Spanx show or I suffer through thigh chafe, and dresses are becoming more difficult. Anyway, I’m looking forward to covering my body in as many layers as is humanly possible in the colder months.
I may emerge again come spring.
I’ve been working on this video on and off the last two weeks. I’m not super happy with it, but if I spend any more time working on it I’m either go to throw my computer out the window and/or murder someone, so I’m calling it done.
Here’s to hoping my rage simmers down and I’m a normal, functioning human for the rest of the day!
I actually have a good reason for being away this time:
I was working on a lookbook for my internship! We filmed it last Sunday and I edited it together on Friday.
The video features outfits from the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s. They’re all from Haberdash Vintage, which is part of Crompton Collective where I’m interning.
I am actually really proud of it. I know that’s lame to say, but I spent many hours brainstorming, pinning, filming, and editing this.
My friend Matt was so nice and let me borrow his steadicam, which made my shots so much better. I roped my friends Rachel and Natali into modeling for me. We had so much fun going around to different places shooting the looks. And they had a few laughs at me failing to use the steadicam.
I hope you guys enjoy!

This was my attempt at shooting a lookbook before the end of the year. I’m still trying to figure out how to take photos indoors in low lighting…is it even possible? However, I just got the free trial of Lightroom and it is so nice to be able to work with masks and edit the exposure of parts of the pictures. I took these pictures yesterday before heading out for the night (I didn’t wear this outfit- it was a more casual affair). I realized while taking these that I much prefer being behind the camera when it comes to photoshoots. Not only is it difficult to take pictures of yourself (my camera remote battery died), I am just not good at posing. I need Natali to come back from break and model for me!
I had a great New Year’s Eve. My brother, his friend, and I went to my cousin’s party in his new house. It was a lot of fun hanging out with family and friends to ring in the New Year. We danced to Taylor Swift (interpretive dance in my case), we ate good food, had some good laughs, and rang in the morning with brunch (yassss).
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve. Here’s wishing everyone an amazing 2015!
I decided today that I wanted to foray into the world of video. I started watching youtube beauty and fashion videos the summer before I started college. I had a lot of free time on my hands, so I figured maybe I could learn how to do my hair and makeup from youtube. It is now my main source of entertainment. When I was living at school, I basically stopped watching TV all together and only watched youtube.
I’m learning how to use iMovie (I watched a number of youtube tutorials, haha). I had a lot of fun making it, so hopefully there will be more to come!
Here’s the link.
I hope you enjoy!
