It’s officially Daylight Savings time, which means it now gets dark at around 4:30. So, today I used my car headlight for the shoot, which is why the lighting is a bit wonky.
At some point I need to invest in a photo editing system that allows me to easily edit only parts of the photos. Masks and layers basically. I have Gimp, but haven’t put too much time into learning it. If anyone knows of a simple, cheap alternative to Photoshop, let me know!
On a side note, I think I now understand how animals feel when they are about to get hit by a vehicle- blinded and confused.
I this blazer on Saturday (thanks, mom!) from TJMaxx. I’d been eyeing it for a few weeks but had never actually tried it on. As soon as I did I had to have it. It fit weirdly well, and is something I can see myself wearing at the “big girl job” I hope to one day get.
This whole senior year/graduating thing is really making me think more about what I want to do when I get out. Some days I think I’d like to work in the corporate fashion world, other days I’m not sure if I could handle that structure and feel like the small business sector could be better. I hope that whatever I wind up doing I enjoy it. It seems like so often, people wind up taking a job that they’re not even interested in, just because they need one. I hope that doesn’t happen to me!
While I’m still in school I’m trying to enjoy the time I have, which everyone seems to be telling me is apparently stress free compared to the real world. I would like to beg to differ on that point; I think it’s just a different kind of stress.
Today I went to Applebee’s with Sarah. It was 4pm and neither of us had eaten lunch, which meant we both splurged calorically and monetarily on mozzarella sticks, a burger for her, chicken tenders for me, and fries. That’s what happens when you wait too long to eat lunch. All self control goes out the window.
May tomorrow’s meal be full of greens.

This is actually a super cool idea for lighting, I think it looks awesome!
And as for photo editors, I use Pixlr myself – but have only ever done minimal editing, though I have to say it’s pretty useful! 🙂
