So, I’ve been trying this new thing called not washing my hair every day.
This was a completely novel concept to me before I came to college. I thought that only dirty people didn’t wash their hair every day, until I discovered that my roommate didn’t—and she’s not dirty at all. Apparently some people just don’t have to wash their hair every day, but they still shower. Who knew!?
I’ve been wanting to try this ever since, but could never bring myself to do it. I’m generally a sweaty, greasy mess in the morning (sorry for the TMI). Then this past week, after heat styling my hair I decided I wanted to keep it for the next day, and voila, it didn’t look terrible!
After that I decided to invest in some Batiste dry shampoo. It takes the grease out of my hair, but it can’t stop it from looking slept on. It doesn’t make it feel clean either, but it’s better than using nothing.
This is definitely still a work in progress, and I can’t say if it’s going to work out for me or not, but I finally tried it, so that’s something!
For this post’s pictures it was crummy weather out but I still wanted to get a post in, so I decided to try an indoor shoot, which doesn’t normally work too well. I hung my carpet from my closet to create a backdrop, threw on a hat (to cover my dirty hair, haha), and started snapping. I am pretty pleased with how they came out.
I was using this photo of Taylor Swift as my inspiration. I love when she goes boho.
I don’t think it’s possible for me to go a month without mentioning Taylor on here is some way, shape, or form. So it goes (to quote Vonnegut and her).
