As promised, this is the top I picked up yesterday at Nordstrom Rack. I love, love, love it. It’s so pretty and unlike other things I’ve seen in stores recently. I knew I had to but it after I tried it on because I knew I would be hard pressed to find anything like it (a “substitute” to put it in marketing terms- sometimes I like to try and apply my education, haha).

I went to visit my grandpa to day with my parents, some of my aunts, and my grandma. I went to work after that. It was very busy, which made my shift go by quickly, which is always a plus.

I was watching an episode of Island Hunters, which sounds like some made up show from a YA lit novel, but it’s a real thing. The people on it are literally buying islands. It boggles my mind.

While I was watching I read an article that talked about the fashion industry and how it promotes greed and excess and then I felt weird about just having watched (and enjoyed) an hour of Island Hunters. Like, do I want to buy into these things? Does buying an island make you a bad person (I think not)? It is bad that I enjoy watching people spend ridiculous amounts of money when a lot of people have nothing? Should they be the ones getting the tv air time? Consumerism? What does this blog contribute when I post about my personal possessions? Is it positive or negative? So many questions…

I think it’s important to be conscious of the impact of business on society. Hopefully I’ll be able to balance that when I get into the real world and possibly have a marketing job.

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Sorry if this post got weird and stressful.
