I finally took the plunge and bought a dslr camera! After much deliberation (and a lot of confusion) I went with the Nikon D3100 which was on a great sale at Best Buy (it was cheaper in the store). I spent an overnight at the beach with my parents and had a lot of fun snapping pictures of everything. I kept yelling at my parents to “smile!”

PS: The title of this post is a song by Paul Simon. I had never heard it until, when telling my parents and my aunt that I had bought a Nikon camera (they were not together when I told them), they each burst into this song. My mom did it first and I asked her if she had made it up, but apparently it is a real song, haha.
