Folk It Over!
Sweater: Cynthia Rowley from Marshalls
Skirt: Forever 21 (old)
Boots: Nordstrom Rack
I wore this Saturday to lunch with my friend Abbie and then to work. Like many of my favorite things, it has a bit of a folksy/hippie/bohemian feel to it. Or at least I think it does.
Rose Gold Lamé and Diamonds
Sweater: Marshalls
Skirt: Marshalls
Necklace: American Eagle
This is one of my all time favorite outfits. I can’t even tell you how many times I wore it last winter; I think it got to the point of weekly, if not more than once a week. It feels very me. Plus it’s comfortable, and that’s always important. If something is uncomfortable, I’m not going to wear it: hence my lack of pants.
“It was my mom’s in the eighties”
While I wouldn’t say this is the “ugliest effing thing I’ve ever seen,” I will admit that it needs some work. I’m really into velvet, smock dresses, and maxi anything, so when I found my mom’s old dress in the back of my closet this week I felt like I had to wear it. It’s super comfortable and warm without being too hot. However, I think I need to hem it. Looking at these pictures I realized there’s a reason that all the smock dresses out this season are short: otherwise you look like a witch who gets followed around by multiple cats at all times.
Booty Swing/Party Like It’s 1918!!
Dress & Top: Forever 21
Boots: Nordstrom Rack
This was my “costume” for Halloween day. I didn’t actually go anywhere other than school or work, so I didn’t want to do anything too crazy. I think I might have gone a little too safe though, because I don’t think people really got the flapper vibe I was going for. Also, I know that the 1920’s were the real era of the flapper, but the 1918 is an homage to the Red Sox for becoming World Series Champs on their home field for the first time since 1918! Yay! I actually watched almost all of the World Series, which is pretty impressive given that the only sports I find more boring than baseball are football and golf. As I like to say, I’m not a fair weather fan, I’m a fair weather watcher. I’ll root for you, just don’t make me sit through a three hour game. Having a brother who played baseball for twelve or so years, I’ve been to (and fallen asleep at) more than my fair share of baseball games.
I wore this to class today for my presentation on how dress code enforcement contributes to rape culture. I can’t decide if this dress is more business or more holiday. I like it either way, so whatever.
I hope you all had a spooky Halloween and a lovely week!
I’m hoping that my workload will be a bit less this week, so hopefully I’ll be able to get another post up.
