I spent the day making cupcakes with a bunch of second graders. It was really fun, but also really tiring. I was helping out with a class the rec. dept. was putting on. The theme was pirates, so we made buried treasure, fish, boats, and pirates with eye patches.
The kids kept sneaking frosting and were bouncing off the walls by the end of the class. I don’t know how people do it. I spent three hours with these kids and I’ve been zonked ever since.
I was funny how excited they were to do everything. Even when I said “Who wants to wash this bowl!?” I would get at least three eager hands in the air.
I hope you all had a great day! I’m probably going to lay on the couch for the rest of the night before dragging myself to bed.
