Sweater: Banana Republic
Necklace: Forever 21

I wanted to dress like a princess when I went to the Biltmore…because, why not…but due to the weather and reality, I settled for this. I just picked up the sweater on sale at a Banana Republic Factory Store and I love it. I got it in two colors, but the other one was tighter and gave me a rash, so it went back. I got the necklace a few weeks ago from Forever 21. That was my bit of princess sparkle.

Last Saturday my parents and I flew down to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit my brother for the week.
Actually, we didn’t fly to NC until Sunday because we got stuck in the Baltimore airport…but that’s another story.
One of the main things I wanted to do when we were down there was go to the Biltmore mansion. I’ve been nagging my family about it for weeks. Sorry, not sorry.
So, on Wednesday my parents and I took the two hour drive Asheville, NC. It is a giant mansion that built by the Vanderbuilts. It was built in 1895 and it is massive. It’s all marble and granite with a spiral staircase, an indoor pool, an elevator, electricity, a gym with showers, thirty-three bedrooms, a giant library, a bowling alley, and so much more! It was crazy to even try to imagine that people actually lived in that house. They needed an entire staff just to maintain it. There were probably rooms that they never set foot in. And we didn’t even get to see all the rooms. A lot were blocked off to visitors.
We drove two hours to get there, while it was snowing. It was a little nerve-wracking, but once we arrived it was awesome!
There was even a visiting exhibit of outfits from Downton Abbey, which I loved. They were a lot of 1920’s styles, which is one of my favorite eras in fashion.
The house is right by the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are groves of bamboo, horses, a winery, thousands of acres of land, it was crazy. We drove from the house to the greenhouse, and then the winery for a wine tasting.

If you ever get a chance to go there, you should!

I’ll be posting more pictures of my trip and outfits soon!
