It’s been a full year since I’ve started this little blog. We’ve been through a name change, a camera change, some international travel, accouting classes (barf), and we’ve come out on the other side!

I really am so happy that I stopped getting in my own way for two seconds and threw aside the nerves and the fears to create this blog.
In honor of this wonderful anniversary, I’m proud to share the first pictures I’ve taken with my new 50mm lens!

My cousin Bridget just bought her first house, so we’ve been hanging out there. It is so nice. She’s getting married soon, so we were working on some crafty things for the wedding. I painted the chalkboard lettering using a mix of grated chalk and water. It was so much fun.
I also got to meet her bird, Walter. He’s a great subject to photograph, and he’s so sweet! He was nuzzling my hand when I held him and he puffs up when he’s happy.
Bridget has an awesome cooking blog that you NEED to check out! She is an amazing cook, and can make even cauliflower savory!
I’ve also finally figured out how to put a hand written image on top of a photograph, which is how I made the first image in this post. It literally took me three weeks, but I’ve done it!
