Christmas Eve Outfit
Dress: Forever 21, similar on their website here.
Leggings: Gap
Boots: Ugg
I had to work Christmas Eve, but only until 6, so I was still able to go to my family party. It was at my grandma’s house for the first time in years and was really nice to be back there. I wore a new dress that I picked up from Forever 21 last week. It is really comfortable, but still looks cute while being loose fitting.
I wore the same thing on Christmas Day. If I’m being honest, I’ve been getting two days out of outfits a lot lately. I just couldn’t resist the festiveness and the comfort! I popped on a cardigan from Gap that was a present that morning, cinched it with a belt from American Eagle, and I was good for the day. Christmas was great this year. We slept in until about ten and then opened presents. We ate a big brunch and then went to visit my grandpa in his nursing home. After that we continued our tradition of going to our friend’s house to play games for the night. We always have a blast playing Left, Center, Right and Things. They’re both great party games. We always wind up picking on each other and have a lot of laughs.
I am so thankful for all of the awesome presents I got this year, but more importantly I’m thankful that I’ve had time to spend with my family. I managed to get a couple of days off from work while my brother is home, so I am trying to make the most of my time.
Last night my parents and I went to see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. I read the books almost two years ago to the date. I loved them, but I was so stressed the entire time that I was reading them (which took three days for the entire series) that my stomach was in knots. I actually wound up losing three pounds because I felt too sick to eat! It came right back once I finished, of course, but I’ve never been so affected by a book!
The movie was great, not as stressful as the books if only because it’s shorter. They stayed very true to the book, and it was a really amazing adaptation. I think the movie was just as good as the book, which is so difficult to pull off. Even the most successful book to movie adaptations can lack the depth of the books. I personally think the Harry Potter books were a hundred times better than the movies, but it’s not the case with this series.
I hope you all had an awesome Christmas if you celebrate, and if not, just an awesome day!
