I spent most of yesterday and the day before working on photography stuff, so by 6 o’clock last night I was itching to get out of the house. We solved this by going for a scenic drive up the coast of New Hampshire.
It’s a beautiful coastline, and I like to pretend it’s Big Sur (I will get there within the next two years!). So, while that coastline is still a daydream, I’ll be enjoying this east coast.
The sun was hiding behind the clouds, which created an amazing sunset.
I had picked up a bunch of flowers at a market yesterday, obviously for taking pictures, and I’m so happy I did. I love finding ways to add pops of color to my photos.
After the drive, we came back to the house and hung out. Some of Seth’s friends came down and we had a seafood dinner. Then I crashed and went to bed because I am no longer capable of staying up late.
Tomorrow is my last day up here, but it gets me closer to the end of my job and moving! Two years ago after this vacation, I moved into my apartment. Now in a few short weeks, I’ll be moving out and starting my life as a full fledged photographer!

This beach was covered in the coolest pink seaweed. I’d never seen anything like it before!
There are some exciting things happening around here.
First, I put in my notice at my job! I will be leaving to pursue photography and videography and Kelsey Haley Media! I am so happy to be going after my dreams. I’ll be moving home and increasing my hours at my part time job to pull it off, but I honestly think it’s the right choice. I love my part time job and can still learn so much there. It’s always good to have more than one thing going on. Especially when you’re working for yourself, I think it’s great to have something on the side. It will get me out of the house and allow me to interact with people and still have coworkers that I love.
As for moving home, I’ll miss my apartment and my friends, but I’m happy to be closer with my parents. I go home almost every weekend to see them, so it will be nice to have them right there! I’m not going that far, so I’ll still be able to see my friends in this area.
Starting my own business has been such a cool process. I love being able to make my own decisions and create my own content. It’s boosted my confidence a lot. Seeing how much I’m capable of creating at my full time job has made me realize how much I could be putting into myself. I know that it won’t all be easy, buy it will definitely be worth it!
Another exciting thing, my brother Seth took all these pictures! I’ve been planning on training him to help me out on shoots. He doesn’t know how to control the camera settings yet, but he is a natural at framing and coming up with shots! I love these pictures so much, I almost wish I wasn’t in them so I could share them more! Does that make sense?
We had a ton of fun at this golf course. It’s not done being built, so we were able to run up to the top of the construction site and get these awesome photos overlooking the Holyoke Range. The light and flowers were so perfect.
Since this is still partially a fashion blog, my shorts are from Gap. Everything else is old and boring.
If you guys have any small business/creative Podcasts you love, let me know! Podcasts are one of my biggest sources of inspiration and motivation, so I’m always looking for more content!
And, if anyone would like to book a shoot, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
I’ve been feeling pretty crummy lately. I’m finally taking my antibiotics for my SIBO, so hopefully that will help. I finish them up tonight.
In better news, I got this shirt from Dazey LA! I think it;s pretty awesome. So awesome and comfortable, that I wore it three days in a row. I am gross and don’t care.
Also, my entire family told me that I need to stop wearing these shorts, so I finally got a pair that fits from the Gap. These are like two sizes too big, but that’s what makes them so comfortable!
I’ve officially given up on posting expecting anything more than once post a month on here, but that is fine by me! I’ve been posting weekly on the Kelsey Haley Media blog, so if you want to see what I’m up to, you can catch me over there!
I had my brother take these pictures of me. Seth is training to be my second shooter for weddings, and this was his first shoot. It think he did a great job!
He doesn’t know how to set up the camera yet, so this was more about framing. He’s a natural! Annd, now it’s creeping me this out to be this nice about him. LOL
Here’s a litte video showing how I edited them. I love watching things in fast motion. For a while I was watching hours of time lapse drawing videos on YouTube. I find them so relaxing.
If you’re wondering where this outfit is from, it’s all old and mostly from Marshalls. I pretty much spend all my money on camera equipment and other business expenses, so my wardrobe is not as up to date as it used to be.
This is the first time in ages that I’ve had a full fashion post, as in multiple angles, sweet detail shots, and full body shots. These are all thanks to my awesome coworker, Lauren.
We snuck outside at the end of the day and snapped some pictures in front of our office.
Lauren is an awesome photographer and, being a fashion blogger herself, she knows how to capture all the details.
Our manager drove by as we were doing this, gave us a weird look, and moved along. We just laughed because he already thinks we’re crazy and this is just the cherry on top.
As my work at Kelsey Haley Media has picked up, my devotion to this little blog has waned. Don’t worry though, it’s not ending, it’s just low on my priority list at the moment.
I’ve really been loving working more on my small business stuff. I’ve fully immersed myself in #girlboss culture, going to meet-ups, listening to a ton of podcasts, and working almost every night on my website or creating marketing content, or editing pictures, of course.
Hopefully this is the beginning of something awesome!

It is warm AND I found a new awesome spot to take pictures!
Life is good. It’s been a cold and sickly last month or so, but I am feeling better now and I’m ready to embrace this warm weather.
I had two photoshoots this weekend for Kelsey Haley Media. It felt so good to be working again. I was losing some of my confidence having not shot in a little bit, but having two shoots that went super well and were so much fun made me feel way better!
I was planning on writing more but now I’m so sleepy. That enthusiasm in the first sentence has really faded. What is energy? <- my life motto since birth.
Snooze ya later,
Today was a snow day, a blizzard to be exact, so of course I took the opportunity to go outside and have a mini-photoshoot. This will go up next week, once I have regained feeling in my hands and hopefully all the snow is gone.
The shoot itself lasted maybe two minutes. My camera was covered in snow almost immediately, and so was I. My hair was soaked, my fingers were numb, and my neighbors were giving me weird looks, but it was worth it to get the shot!
I really want to be better about shooting more often. I’ve started using my old Nikon to take my outfit photos again and I still love it. I can see a difference in the quality, but it’s not terrible.
I want to get faster at editing without using presets, so my blog is the perfect place to experiment!
What did you do during the snow day?

These pictures are from last month, when we had that weird 70 degree weekend.
I took a half day from work that Friday and drove down to Newport, RI with some friends.
Oh, boy was it fun! Seriously, having warm weather and doing something out of the ordinary makes life 100x better. We walked around the sea port and then walked the mile and a half to The Breakers mansion. It was so cool.
We didn’t go inside, but we walked around the cliffs and took in the view and the sunshine.
I loved every second of that day. It has me dreaming of warm weather and time off. It’s been snowing all day, so I’ll have to wait a little longer for that. I never trust March, but I have high hopes for April.
This summer, I want to go to Quebec City and at some point I really want to do a road trip from Seattle to San Francisco. I need to start saving up money now so that it really happens. Hopefully putting it out to the world here will keep me accountable.
What’s on your travel list this summer?
PS: These pants are so unflattering, I may never wear them again. Apparently wide leg is not for me.

It’s good to be back! I’ve been in a whirlwind the last few weeks. From doctor visits, to photography, to rock climbing, I’ve been a mixture of busy and exhausted.
I am happy to say that my Kelsey Haley Media has picked back up after a mid-winter slump. I’ve been working on some exciting shoots. It’s been really nice to get outside again and take some pictures.
I did a really fun shoot with some of the girls at work in conjunction with our Wedding Week Event.
They’re some of my most favorite pictures I’ve taken. It’s reassuring to have new favorites. Sometimes it feels like things aren’t going to go You can view the rest of the set on my website.
This long weekend we were blessed with temps in the 50’s, which was such a treat!
It has me itching for warm weather and has my eyes drifting over to the Spell & Gypsy website.
I feel like I had more planned out to write, but now that I’m sitting down to it, I’m coming up blank.
Meh, hopefully the next post will be more eloquent!

So I didn’t wind up getting pictures of my NYE outfit like I was hoping in my last post, but I wound up enjoying the party instead, so I wasn’t too upset about it.
Right before I got sick last week I made a trip to Urban Outfitters to buy non-boyfriend jeans for the first time in years. I used to wear skinny jeans all the time, but once I discovered leggings they migrated to the “never wear” pile. Recently though, I’ve been feeling schlumpy wearing leggings and long shirts every day. I needed something to shake it up.
These jeans are pretty perfect. They’re cropped, which means they hit me at a normal person length (Yay! This never happens!). They’re also high waisted and thick denim but with a bit of stretch. And they’re not too tight. Wow, never thought I’d be waxing poetic about a pair of jeans like this.
Anyway, this was a fun weekend. On Friday I went out to dinner with two of my girlfriends that I hadn’t seen in a while. It was so nice to go just be together and laugh like we did in college. After dinner we drove around Quincy, overlooking the illuminated Boston skyline, and went to the original Dunkin Donuts. I got a stale chocolate frosted from the two heavily Boston accented employees, who spent a full minute bitching to each other before taking our orders. We sat at the counter and chatted, but not longer than 20 minutes because they had a sign up saying that was the time limit. 😂 It was the most perfectly fitting DD experience.
On Saturday I worked at a Crompton and then would up getting snow bound in Worcester. I stayed over Amy’s house and we had a girls night, eating food and watching almost an entire season of One Tree Hill.
Today was spent cleaning up my apartment, running errands, and having a quick lunch date with Sarah and her sister.
I hope you all had a great weekend!
